Guardian Angel Day October 02, 2016

angel-in-colors

It is wonderful to acknowledge our Guardian angels and this tradition has been around for centuries. What is the purpose of this feast day?

  • To thank God that He has given each one of us a Guardian Angel to guide us to good thoughts, works and words and to preserve us from evil.
  • To inspire us with gratitude to the protector Archangels like Michael, who do us such great good, and to incite us to efforts to render ourselves worthy of their guardianship.
  • To be with us at the moment of our deaths, and to guide us to God.

Interestingly, the entire month of October is devoted to Angels. October 2 is devoted to the Guardian Angels.

Make it a point to talk to your Guardian Angel everyday this month. Ask that you get to know your angel better. You’ll never have a better friend!

Here are some main points about Guardian angels.

  • God made a special angel for you called your guardian angel.
  • Angels are spirits, so they don’t have bodies like ours, but we can picture them with bodies, wings, and halos because this is how they appear to people sometimes, and it helps us to think about them.
  • Your angel is always with you all the time, even though you can’t see him.
  • Your angel has 3 important jobs; to enlighten you, guide you, and protect you.
  • Although your angel may help protect you from earthly harms sometimes, it’s a more important job for your angel to protect you from spiritual harms.
  • God gave you the special gift of free will, so even though your angel can help you in many ways, it’s still possible for you to choose to do bad or dangerous things sometimes. We must always be careful!

Take time to each day throughout this month to give thanks to your Guardian angel for being with you. A simple “Thank You Guardian Angel” can make a big difference in your life. The angels are always waiting for us to invite them in. Ask for their help. Take this month to connect with your Guardian Angel and all of the other angels that are around you and see how your life changes for the better.

If you know someone who is seriously ill ask for their Guardian Angels to touch them with their healing power.

If someone you love is facing the end of their life help them to know that their Angels will be with them throughout the transition from the physical into the spiritual body.

There is nothing more I enjoy that helping someone to understand how their angel is working with them.

Pour out, Thy Healing Angels,

Thy Heavenly Host upon me,

And upon those that I love,

Let me feel the beam of Thy

I will let Thy Healing begin,

Whatever way God grants it,

Black Moon September 30, 2016

a-black-moon-comes

A rare ‘black moon’ will rise this Friday night, turning the sky dark as the Western Hemisphere experiences its second new moon of the month.

Those on the other side of the world will have to wait until next month for the same event to occur, but it’ll be worth it – their eerie black moon is set to coincide with Halloween.

The most common definition for a black moon is that it’s the second new moon in a calendar month, which means this Friday’s event is the second time in September that the Moon will be entirely invisible in the night sky – for those in the Western Hemisphere, at least.

September’s Black Moon is filled with positive aspects and plenty of opportunities. In fact, the entire week leading up to the Black Moon and the days that follow it, are going to be extremely positive and peaceful.

The energy of this Black Moon is so supported by the other planets and it is very likely we will all be experiencing great epiphanies, opportunities and even, miracles.

In fact, this Black Moon is going to deliver an extremely positive force, helping us to manifest all of our greatest dreams, wishes and desires.

If you have been looking to change or shift something in your life, if you have been building new ideas or projects, this Black Moon is really going to give you an amazing push in the right direction.

The Black Moon is helpful in guiding you towards your highest path.

Many blessings,
Cherokee Billie

Welcome The Fall Equinox!

Autumnal Equinox September 22, 2016

autumn-copia

The September Fall/Autumnal equinox occurs the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from north to south. This happens on September 22 – 24 and will mark the Autumnal Equinox which signals the beginning of Fall in the northern hemisphere (our friends in the southern hemisphere are celebrating the Spring Equinox). There will be an equal amount of light and darkness during this time, and afterwards the nights grow longer and we head towards winter.

Twice a year, during the earth’s orbit around the sun, we experience equal amounts of daylight and nighttime as the sun crosses over the equator. In the Spring, we call it Vernal Equinox, and every Fall in September it goes by the name of Autumnal Equinox.

But Autumnal Equinox is much more than marking the season before the nights get longer and the leaves change color, soon to parachute from branches to the ground below.

For us in the Northern Hemisphere, people are enjoying the cooler days of autumn even as preparations for winter are underway.

In the rhythm of the year, Harvest Home marks a time of rest after hard work. The crops are gathered in, and winter is still a month and a half away! Although the nights are getting cooler, the days are still warm, and there is something magical in the sunlight, for it seems silvery and indirect.

This is a time of a powerful 3 Day Galactic Portal time and the Birthing of The Shift: whereby there is a wonderful Opportunity to set the pattern/s of your Life to exactly how YOU want it to look, like or be. A beginning of a true quickening of “Realty” shifts based on your “output” of energies of your thoughts, words, intentions, and deeds. A great time for creating with an open -heart based Consciousness. Positive, loving, benevolent, life affirming, compassionate energies bring quick” like” experiences.. On the other hand, Negative, harmful energies No longer have the use or support of Universal Life Force and so will falter…So.. May All Blessings and Good be Yours! Create Wonderfully and Joyfully!

Equinox, meaning “equal night”, has its share of folklore and tradition as well. Some are rooted in Mythology; others are more grounded and carry their tradition to this day.

Those surrounding Autumnal Equinox included the following:

In Greek mythology, Persephone (formerly named Kore) returns to the Underworld on Autumnal Equinox to live with her husband, Hades, for half a year after living on Earth with her mother, Demeter, starting at Vernal Equinox.

Higan (meaning “the other shore”—nirvana), a Buddhist memorial service, occurs around the time of Autumnal Equinox (as well as Vernal Equinox), for seven days and serves to comfort ancestral spirits with loved ones visiting family graves.

Michaelmas, the Christian holiday honoring the Archangel Michael, has pagan roots in Autumnal Equinox—end of harvest time, the marking of shorter days and longer nights, as well as the expulsion of Lucifer from Heaven by Archangel Michael.

One of eight Wiccan festivals that honor nature, Called Sabbats, falls near this date in September.

Mabon, the Witch’s Thanksgiving, was a Welsh god and the male “counterpart” to the Persephone myth. Taken from his mother while only days old, Mabon gestates in the womb of Modron (the Great Mother) waiting to be reborn.

Clearly, this time of year has a variety of cultural observances spread around the world, diverse in custom, yet united in season. This September, when experiencing one of the biannual “Balancing of Nature”, remember the multitude of celebrations that share the advent of Autumn.

The sun is rising later now and nightfall comes sooner. This is our autumn equinox, when the days are getting shorter in the Northern Hemisphere. At this equinox, day and night are approximately equal in length. For us in the Northern Hemisphere, people are enjoying the cooler days of autumn even as preparations for winter are underway

To welcome in this beautiful and magical season use some of the following to embrace all that is good:

Incense or scents to use: Pine, sage, sweetgrass or myrrh.

Seasonal Herbs: Rue, yarrow, rosemary, marigold, sage, walnut leaves and husks, mistletoe, saffron, oat leaves, apple.

Jimi Hendrix died 46 years ago, September 18, 1970

jimiIt blows my mind that it has been 46 years since I was a teenager and heard the news that Jimi Hendrix had died. It just seems like a couple of years ago. Time Keeps On Slipping Into the Future!

So much happened 46 years ago that affected my life forever. On September 18, 1970 Jimi Hendrix died. I had seen him perform live ten times and no one ever blew me away like he did. I was a straight kid and did not use drugs, yet I understood completely what his music was about. People often associate those who like Jimi Hendrix with drugs; you don’t need drugs to appreciate his art. I wish I could help you feel the experience of him live because literally I could feel my body vibrate and move in what ever direction he wanted it to when he played his guitar. Jimi is often considered the greatest guitarist in rock and roll. He is known for playing guitar left-handed and behind his back and with his teeth without missing a single note. It was an amazing experience and no one else ever was able to do that for me.

I lived in Los Angeles and I saw most of the major groups in the 1960’s and 1970’s. I am so grateful I lived through that amazing time. People have tried to capture that time period today, but unless you were there you will never really understand or experience it. I had just seen Jimi Hendrix about two months prior to his death. He came on stage much different than before. He did not have a smile as he usually did and just played his songs without much emotion. I felt that something was wrong in this man’s life, but had no idea what it was. Turns out the man was overworked and burnt out, but the promoters kept booking more and more performances for him.

The news of Jimi’s death came on a Friday and I spent the weekend feeling the loss of such a beautiful person and the greatest guitar player ever. It was hard to believe because he was so young, only 27 years old, and to be gone and to lose what could have been. He died from suffocation (in his own vomit) after taking too many sleeping pills. He was not a heavy drug user, of course he used drugs it was common for the time, but he was not a drug addict. I believe the man was just looking for some peace and quiet. I had my own private goodbye to Jimi that weekend.

For those of us who lived during this wonderful creative time we can never forget this genius artist that changed the world then quickly left. His influence is felt even to this day and will continue to be felt for centuries to come. What if he never would have truly lived and expressed what he felt? The world would have missed out on so much. Jimi Hendrix could not read or write music, but did that stop him from playing the guitar? No. Jimi Hendrix is listed as the number one guitar player in the world by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. There are no limitations to your life when you truly live. Let his life be an inspiration to you to let go of all inhibitions and live your life freely and fully no matter what your age. We are supposed to live not just exist. Live today!

Life in this world is very short and as you get older you really realize how short it is. There are times where I would give anything to go back and live those happy carefree times again. This is why it is critical to try to live every day to its fullest and create happiness for your life. Life ends much too quickly and there is no reason on earth not to make the best of each day. Granted not every day is going to be wonderful, but you do have a choice in how you deal with each day. All I can say is live fully now.

Want to know what it was like to see Jimi Hendrix live? I have a two part of video about the first time I saw Jimi Hendrix in 1968. Part One Click Here. Part Two Click Here.

My wonderful cat Isis absolutely loved Jimi Hendrix. Whenever I would play his music she would sit in front of the big speakers in the living room and listen intently. A reach the point all I had to say was, “Isis Hendrix’s on.” She would come running into the living room from wherever she had been and sit down by the speaker.

“It’s funny the way most people love the dead. Once you are dead, you are made for life.” Jimi Hendrix

Thank you Jimi for all you gave us,

Harvest Full Moon September 16, 2016

harvest-moon-copia

Time to Reap What You Have Sown This Year!

Summer’s end is on the horizon, and the arrival of autumn will be heralded by a Harvest Moon on Sept. 16 in Pisces.  In traditional Skylore, the Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox, which will take place on Sept. 22. This is known as the Nut Moon. The Ripe Corn Festival is held in the early part of this moon to acknowledge the Corn Mother and the Earth Mother. The Brush Feast festival is also held. Fruits and nuts are still being gathered, much of which goes into breads. Hunting in earnest begins.

This is a powerful equalizing or neutralizing time, and as such is a good time to finally release things which have been a burden or stress in your life. This causes a temporary rebalancing for you at least for a couple weeks which can be a powerful time to start new projects or to finalize old ones you have been unable to bring a close to. The time is now!

This is the harvest time, where all the hard work and effort we have put into things in the past, so tirelessly, is about to be rewarded. We will start to reap what we have sewn.

Things have not always been easy and you may be feeling tired like you have been working so hard for little reward, but do not give up even though you are tired. Do not quit so close to the finish line as you are nearly there and with the energy that is coming through you will be able to reach your goals.

Things To Do During A Full Moon!

Start With:

What is a Harvest Moon?

Who named the Harvest Moon? Full Moon names date back to Native Americans, of what is now the northern and eastern United States. The tribes kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full Moon. Their names were applied to the entire month in which each occurred.

At the peak of harvest, farmers can work late into the night by the light of this Moon. Usually the full Moon rises an average of 50 minutes later each night, but for the few nights around the Harvest Moon, the Moon seems to rise at nearly the same time each night: just 25 to 30 minutes later across the U.S., and only 10 to 20 minutes later for much of Canada and Europe. Corn, pumpkins, squash, beans, and wild rice the chief Indian staples are now ready for gathering

So why is this moon – the moon closest to the autumnal equinox – called the Harvest Moon? The shorter-than-usual time between moonrises around the full Harvest Moon means no long period of darkness between sunset and moonrise for days in succession.

In the days before tractor lights, the lamp of the Harvest Moon helped farmers to gather their crops, despite the diminishing daylight hours. As the sun’s light faded in the west, the moon would soon rise in the east to illuminate the fields throughout the night. That name probably sprang to the lips of farmers throughout the Northern Hemisphere, on autumn evenings, as the Harvest Moon aided in bringing in the crops.

Time To Let Go

It is time for us to spiritually shed the dead parts from our souls, just like the trees are letting go of the leaves, and make way for the new growth that is being released at this sacred time. This is your opportunity to advance your soul growth. Do not let this moment pass you by.

While September proves to be a generous month, we must be ever conscious of the path ahead, the needs that may arise and that life is always a maze of shifts, twists and turns.

Uncover and understand what came before and what lies ahead in the spiritual harvest of September’s gratitude and grace.

Take advantage of a Full Moon Reading which will give you guidance on your path. This is a special time of year to direct how your year ends.

Full Moon Blessings,

MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL

wtc

You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news On September 11, 2001. Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say ‘Good-Bye.’ I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, ‘Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK..I am ready to go.’

I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn’t coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. ‘I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!’ I said. ‘Of course I will show you the way home – only believe in Me now.’

I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Canada. I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name – though not all know Me.

Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.

Some couldn’t hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; ‘Come to Me… this way… take my hand.’ Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me. But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do.. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you . But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are ‘ready to go.’

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments!

My love for You is Eternal!

Don’t Panic—Its Mercury Retrograde Time

Let Me Explain To You the Basics of Mercury Retrograde

From August 31st to September 23rd, Mercury will retrograde in the sign of Virgo. What this means is it’s time to slow down and take time to go within to gain new perspectives.

Many people panic at the thoughts of Mercury Retrograde, but I feel that it’s just time for change and nothing to panic about.  We should always be introspective and take time to make any type of decisions.  This particular time indicates really being diligent about any actions you take and think about what you need to do next in your life and on your path.

A wonderful event that occurs during this time is on September 16 when a full moon lunar eclipse occurs.  Always take time to plan what you want between this full moon and the next.  There is a lot of positive energy around this and do not let it go to waste.

Many blessings,
