Mercury Retrograde in Taurus

Time for your friend and mine, the planet Mercury to turn retrograde. Two words that send shivers down some people’s spines while others take a nonchalant attitude.

When is this Mercury Retrograde?

This year, Mercury retrogrades in the Earth signs, and from April 29th to May 23rd

It is a time when anything can happen. I find this to be a time to take it easy and reflect on life rather than try to be going full forward at a fast pace. This is what causes some people to have problems during Mercury Retrograde.

Taurus likes to know what is around the corner. It is a sign of planning with the need to feel secure and stable.

So what does this Mercury Retrograde mean?

Losing paperwork or money frequently happens during this time. Take a little extra caution and make sure you check over your finances carefully during this time.

If you think of Taurus being an earth sign, and Mercury ruling Gemini – an air sign – you can get the general idea of how this period will pan out. Astrologically, Earth and Air signs are not the most compatible of combinations.

Anything good about this Retrograde?

Of course there can be positives to a Mercury Retrograde. If you have anything that needs careful attention to detail, now is the time to look at it. Making plans for the future will prove to be very fruitful when done during the Retrograde.

Writing out what you want for your life is vital. You may find yourself exploring new thoughts and make sure you write them down so you don’t forget all the things that are being sparked during this time of Mercury.

It is important at this time to keep your thoughts to yourself. Communication can often go awry and it’s best to stick to planning.

If you are thinking of ending a relationship make sure you have all the facts and have thought this through carefully before you take any action. Remember this is a time for planning not necessarily acting on it.

It is easy to fall into arguments at this time, so if you find yourself feeling frustrated and work off their frustration with physical activity.

The new moon in Taurus on May 6th is a perfect time for a new beginning so once again get back to your planning and make those thoughts count!.

If you like to work with the moon energy then remember the full moon occurs on May 21st. use this full moon energy to help push those plans you have been making.

Remember you do not have to hide under the bed until Mercury passes. Think things through carefully and do your planning for the year and you will have a wonderful transition into the next phase of this year.

A Year Without Isis

April 29, 2016 marks one year since Isis crossed the rainbow bridge.  We had fifteen remarkable years together.

Throughout my life I’ve always had animals be it fur, feather, fin or reptile.  Each one holds a special place in my heart.

In all my years there was no animal that crossed my path as remarkable as Isis.  From the first day she came home she had wisdom that far exceeded anything I had ever seen.  She understood everything immediately.  Not once did she ever do anything disruptive or cause any problems.

She was my first cat and a Rescue Kitty about five months old, and when she came into my life. She had big beautiful green eyes, black silky hair, and walked with great dignity.  I felt there was only one name that suited her and that was after the Egyptian goddess Isis.

She understood how to move around me, as I am bedridden and the slightest little thing can cause incredible pain.  She would flatten her body out to where she was no more than 1 inch high and lay under my arm.  She knew that if I my arm was elevated it would cause pain.  She was a true shape shifter.

She would always stand by the chair I was sitting on and ask permission before she came over. She did the same thing when she jumped on the bed she would never come near me unless I told her it was all right. She had incredible manners.

Her psychic abilities were amazing.  I always trusted her instincts because they were accurate.  She was able to speak to me telepathically in English.  There is no need to try to figure out what she wanted to relay because of her incredible psychic abilities, it was easy to understand.  I always felt she was a greater mystic then I will ever be.

She loved Jimi Hendrix.  In our time together we lived in many different homes, but one of the first homes we were in together had a remarkable built in entertainment center with speakers five feet high.  I noticed that whenever I put on a Jimi Hendrix CD she would stand in front of the speakers and not move.  Eventually I knew all I had to say was, “Isis, It’s Hendrix” and she would come running from wherever she was and stand in front of the speakers.

Isis had a deep distrust of all people.  I do not know what her life was like before she came to live with me, but it obviously taught her a lot about people.  I was fortunate to be the only person she trusted.  I had to earn that trust with her. When she first came to live with me she would lie on my physical therapy table and gently swat at anyone who went by. Most would freak out and I think she inwardly laughed a lot at that. When she would do it with me I would not move and I would put my hand close to her and she would bite at it and I would say, “Come on, bite harder.” She realized I wasn’t going to be intimidated, so she knew I was trustworthy.

Over time she got to where she would not come out at all if anyone came into the home where we were living. She preferred to stay in the closet until she knew it was safe to come out. I do not have many pictures of her because no one ever saw her but me and I’m not able to move around that well to take pictures, but I treasure the few that I have.

Isis and Tigre

When I brought Tigre, my second Rescue Kitty, into our home Isis immediately took over as her mother and always protected her. They would both sleep together in the closet when ever people were around. Especially my caregivers. Tigre has had a lot of health problems and would have to be medicated frequently.  When Rene, the main person in my life, would try to get her out of the closet Isis would attack and she was extremely serious.

They have gotten a bath every month from a groomer and Isis would always be very peaceful as he was giving her a bath and drying her, but when he wasn’t expecting it she would bite him. So many times he would come into my bedroom after finishing their grooming with his finger wrapped in a paper towel with drops of blood on it from Isis teeth. When she passed last year he expressed deep regret. I saw him last week and we shared stories about Isis and he laughed at how she would attack him. He never took it personally.

She never had a sick day in her life. I was always happy about that because I knew her fear of people would make it a horrible experience for her to go to the vet.  During the last year of her life I kept noticing and commenting on how thin she was getting.  She never expressed any signs of illness in any way.  Two months before she passed I knew she was sick and I knew it was related to her kidneys. Not once did she ever cry or act like she was in any sort of pain. She was always concerned about me and never wanted me to worry.  My instincts told me there was something wrong.  I had her see one vet and was not pleased with his so-called treatment and diagnosis.  I knew she needed to see the specialist that treated Tigre.

Rene captured her and put her in the carrier to go to the specialist, who is quite a distance from where we are, and I did my best to say goodbye because I did not think she would come back.  What the doctor found was that one kidney had such a large stone that it was not functioning.  I kept thinking about her having have treatments and I knew that it would be miserable for her.  The next day he called and said she had taken a sudden turn for the worst.  He could not understand why she went down so quickly.  It did not surprise me.  I was on his cell phone talking to her the whole time while he gave her the injection to pass.

I’m glad that she was able to hear me until the last moment.  Out of personal curiosity the doctor did an autopsy on her and found that she had cancer of the liver.  She was a very sick little girl and never let on.  The doctor made a special box for her and buried her in his backyard.

I talk to her every day and I have seen her several times since she passed.  Most recently I saw her at the beginning of March when I was on the verge of dying and I would see her lying on the bed in her normal place protecting me as usual.

There will never be another animal in my life that will equal Isis. I knew she was special from the moment I saw her until our last moments. I know that we will be together once again when I meet her at the end of the rainbow bridge.

Pink Full Moon April 22, 2016

After the long winter it’s time to throw your head back and howl at the Full Pink Moon April 22, 2016 at 05:24 UTC .  This is a wonderful time of year because it expresses rebirth and growth.  This moon may look full a day before and after to the casual observer.

Full Moons are about completion and something in our lives needs to evolve and either close out or be taken to the next level.

Asking ourselves the following questions may help us tune into what the universe wants us to see.

• How much is too much?
• Where do we draw the line? What are the risks in doing so?
• How bad do we want it and how far are we willing to go to get it?
• Is enough ever enough?

Nobody knows the answers except for us—taking a minute to honestly ask ourselves may prove beneficial.

The April 22 full moon is the smallest full moon of the year. We’ve heard it called the micro-moon or mini-moon. What is a mini-moon or micro-moon?. The terms mini-moon and micro-moon stem from popular culture. They roll off the tongue more easily than apogee full moon. As some indication of the appellation’s growing popularity, I have found that the NASA Astronomy Photo of the Day and timeanddate.org sites both like to call the smallest full moon a micro-moon.

After the long winter it’s time to throw your head back and howl at the Full Pink Moon.  This is a wonderful time of year because it expresses rebirth and growth.

Plan a ritual to physically plant your seeds of desire in Mother Earth. This time of year is filled with pink healing energy that can be opened up to receive and embrace its majesty and glory.

The Pink Moon received its name from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names for this month’s celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn.

The full moon of April is also known as the Egg Moon. Both names, Pink and Egg, indicate the sprouting of seed and the explosion of bright beauty found in the phlox (pink) and other flowers rising for the spring debut.

April Moon Facts and Folklore

On April 20, 1972, the lunar module of Apollo XVI landed on the moon with astronauts John Young and Charles Duke aboard. Thomas Mattingly remained in orbit around the moon aboard the command module. This was the third exportation of the moon.

One day later on April 21, 1972, Apollo XVI astronauts John Young and Charles Duke drove an electric car (LEM) on the surface of the moon. It’s still up there along with some expensive tools and some film that they forgot.

The period from the full Moon through the last quarter of the Moon is the best time for killing weeds, thinning, pruning, mowing, cutting timber, and planting below-ground crops.

Take this time to celebrate the beauty of the moon and all the inspiration that it gives us.

Happy Earth Day April 22

This year marks 46 years since Earth day has been honored. It’s important to give back to mother earth as we, the human race, have done so much to destroy her natural patterns and rhythms.

If each one of us does something for the earth we can bring about change. Not polluting the planet, not throwing trash into the ocean, polluting the air, destroying forests, killing off animals, these are just some examples of things that we can do to help our planet.

Now that spring has come take some time to go outside and put your feet in the dirt as you will feel a greater connection to this magnificent planet that we so often neglect.

When we become too involved in our day to day life we tend to forget about the earth beneath us that is our true home. So take some time and start giving back to the earth. You will be changing the world one piece at a time.

Interestingly enough, Earth Day this year falls on the same day as this revealing Full Moon April 22, 2016. This is perhaps a sign indicating it’s finally time to see what’s really happening to our planet and do our small part to turn things around?

On Earth Day… Walk barefoot to ground yourself and to connect with Mama Earth.. Give thanks and pour your love into her, make a new commitment to honor her with green practices.

New Moon April 07, 2016 –A Time Of Action

The new moon of April 7, 2016 11:24 UTC, is the closest new moon of the year. When you see the sun on April 7, think of the moon, too. It’ll be between us and the sun – but not exactly between – crossing the sky with the sun throughout the day.

It is good time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies. It’s time to take action – try something new and innovative, and go at it with gusto and confidence; be assertive without being abrasive; take charge of our lives; start a brand new project; and discover our own personal courage.

A new moon symbolizes new beginnings when you look at old goals and set new ones. It is a good time to contemplate upon your life. The meaning of a new moon is the opportunity to start anew and refresh your dreams and desires. It is a time of magic!

To make this a sacred time use Four Items to honor the elements. Have with you a small bottle of sand for the element of earth, a feather for the element of air, a red candle for the element of fire, and a cup of water for the element of water.

On the evening of the New Moon fill a glass with pure clean water. Hold your filled glass and take a moment to stand before any sacred space that you have set up or is special to you and breathe into your center – that deep internal place that is the source of your intent and where all change is possible. Internalize the knowing that All Water is One Water, with the power to cleanse and purify, to wash away the dust of all that was. Know that water always seeks to flow and in so doing erodes away all the blocks and obstacles that hinder its progress.

Fill yourself with all the thoughts of change that help this world to be better in all ways. Bring up all the ways that you can help to foster and create that change, not only within but also in your daily life to the world around you. Allow those intentions and energy to flow into the water that you hold.

Add to its power by singing, drumming or raising energy in your own unique way. Allow your energy to infuse the remaining water within your glass while deeply knowing that all water is connected. Remember that all water is one water, and that the water of our bodies is the same as the sea and the rain and the river. The energy of water flows and returns to you like a great tide, the waves of true and undeniable change that begins with your own personal divine source.

Drink some of the water in your glass and allow the energy to infuse all parts of your inner self, knowing that you raising your vibration to a higher level. You can do this again on the next new moon.

Let this new moon be a fresh start in your life! It’s never too late to start over again.

Welcome to Tax Time! Here We Go Again

It’s that time of the year that most people do not enjoy-Tax Season. Many people are scrambling to get their tax forms finished. While others are hoping they can pay their taxes. As the old saying goes, “There’s Nothing Certain Except Death and Taxes.”
