Autumnal Equinox September 22, 2016

autumn-copia

The September Fall/Autumnal equinox occurs the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from north to south. This happens on September 22 – 24 and will mark the Autumnal Equinox which signals the beginning of Fall in the northern hemisphere (our friends in the southern hemisphere are celebrating the Spring Equinox). There will be an equal amount of light and darkness during this time, and afterwards the nights grow longer and we head towards winter.

Twice a year, during the earth’s orbit around the sun, we experience equal amounts of daylight and nighttime as the sun crosses over the equator. In the Spring, we call it Vernal Equinox, and every Fall in September it goes by the name of Autumnal Equinox.

But Autumnal Equinox is much more than marking the season before the nights get longer and the leaves change color, soon to parachute from branches to the ground below.

For us in the Northern Hemisphere, people are enjoying the cooler days of autumn even as preparations for winter are underway.

In the rhythm of the year, Harvest Home marks a time of rest after hard work. The crops are gathered in, and winter is still a month and a half away! Although the nights are getting cooler, the days are still warm, and there is something magical in the sunlight, for it seems silvery and indirect.

This is a time of a powerful 3 Day Galactic Portal time and the Birthing of The Shift: whereby there is a wonderful Opportunity to set the pattern/s of your Life to exactly how YOU want it to look, like or be. A beginning of a true quickening of “Realty” shifts based on your “output” of energies of your thoughts, words, intentions, and deeds. A great time for creating with an open -heart based Consciousness. Positive, loving, benevolent, life affirming, compassionate energies bring quick” like” experiences.. On the other hand, Negative, harmful energies No longer have the use or support of Universal Life Force and so will falter…So.. May All Blessings and Good be Yours! Create Wonderfully and Joyfully!

Equinox, meaning “equal night”, has its share of folklore and tradition as well. Some are rooted in Mythology; others are more grounded and carry their tradition to this day.

Those surrounding Autumnal Equinox included the following:

In Greek mythology, Persephone (formerly named Kore) returns to the Underworld on Autumnal Equinox to live with her husband, Hades, for half a year after living on Earth with her mother, Demeter, starting at Vernal Equinox.

Higan (meaning “the other shore”—nirvana), a Buddhist memorial service, occurs around the time of Autumnal Equinox (as well as Vernal Equinox), for seven days and serves to comfort ancestral spirits with loved ones visiting family graves.

Michaelmas, the Christian holiday honoring the Archangel Michael, has pagan roots in Autumnal Equinox—end of harvest time, the marking of shorter days and longer nights, as well as the expulsion of Lucifer from Heaven by Archangel Michael.

One of eight Wiccan festivals that honor nature, Called Sabbats, falls near this date in September.

Mabon, the Witch’s Thanksgiving, was a Welsh god and the male “counterpart” to the Persephone myth. Taken from his mother while only days old, Mabon gestates in the womb of Modron (the Great Mother) waiting to be reborn.

Clearly, this time of year has a variety of cultural observances spread around the world, diverse in custom, yet united in season. This September, when experiencing one of the biannual “Balancing of Nature”, remember the multitude of celebrations that share the advent of Autumn.

The sun is rising later now and nightfall comes sooner. This is our autumn equinox, when the days are getting shorter in the Northern Hemisphere. At this equinox, day and night are approximately equal in length. For us in the Northern Hemisphere, people are enjoying the cooler days of autumn even as preparations for winter are underway

To welcome in this beautiful and magical season use some of the following to embrace all that is good:

Incense or scents to use: Pine, sage, sweetgrass or myrrh.

Seasonal Herbs: Rue, yarrow, rosemary, marigold, sage, walnut leaves and husks, mistletoe, saffron, oat leaves, apple.

Happy Mother’s Day 2015

mothers-day-cbWishing ALL the beautiful.. Hardworking.. Dedicated.. Sexy.. Generous and Loving moms (and grandmas) living and in spirit a fabulous Mother’s Day!  Also, to would be mothers who are enjoying the life that grows within them-celebrate!  For all of the mothers of fur, feathered, fin, and reptile babies’ thank you for taking care of these wonderful creatures.

My mother is in spirit and I look forward to the time that we’re reunited. Thank you for everything you gave me Mama.

I am grateful for my fur babies, Isis and Tigre. Isis passed into spirit last week and now there is a large hole in my heart. Tigre is still with me for now. I never had children, but I’ve had many wonderful animal babies.

I was thinking of the ladies that never had children and have wanted to. There is a wonderful chapter in the Bible that speaks about women who never had children and how they will have more children because of their spiritual work. This has always been very comforting to me as I never had children.

Isaiah 54:1 “Sing, O barren, you that did not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you that did not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, said the Lord.

In my life I have found this passage to be very true. I believe that some of us are destined to be spiritual Mothers.  Spiritual mothers have more children than any one woman can have by birth.

Never feel that you are alone, remember that so many people out there need what you have to offer. Never underestimate you. Use your gifts and you’ll be amazed at how many spiritual children you will have.

For all of You Fabulous Mothers may your day be blessed with love, beauty, and compassion. Never forget how special you are!

“All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” – Abraham Lincoln

Many blessings to all Mothers,
Cherokee Billie

Here is a tribute to my mother and it’s a lovely story about what happened after she passed in to spirit. I know that this will bring joy to many of you

Consciousness Is A Dynamic Force!

Infinite Consciousness
The wonderful thing about Consciousness it is cumulative and ever expanding though always infinite and eternal. The voice of Consciousness is without ego, judgment, prejudice; it is all expressive, assistive and loving. Do not deny the inner voice within one’s self that has access to that infinite archive of information. Consciousness is not only a receptacle of information; it is an active and dynamic force in the utilization of that information for one’s benefit. Go within and listen to the still Gentle voice of consciousness. Thought alone does not create our reality – Consciousness does

What Do You See?

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, they found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Melbourne. The old man’s sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this ‘anonymous’ poem winging across the Internet.

Cranky Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see?
What are you thinking .. . when you’re looking at me?
A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise,
Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food .. . … . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . .’I do wish you’d try!’
Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not . . . … lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill?
Is that what you’re thinking?. .Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse .you’re not looking at me.
I’ll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will.
I’m a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he’ll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep.
At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me . . to see I don’t mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .. …Babies play ’round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future … . . . . I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing .. . . young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . And the love that I’ve known.
I’m now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel.
It’s jest to make old age . . . . . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles .. .. . grace and vigor, depart.
There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells
I remember the joys . . . . .. . I remember the pain.
And I’m loving and living . . . . . . . life over again.
I think of the years, all too few . . .. gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people .. . . . .. . . open and see.
Not a cranky old man .
Look closer . . . . see .. .. . .. …. . ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within. We will all, one day, be there, too!

Let’s Begin With Today

Let’s all begin with today,
by making amends,
to whom ever it may be,
whether it may be family or friends.
I ask that all of the ugliness,
be left behind and alone.
Without darkness, and moisture,
ugliness, as with fungus, cannot be grown.
Out of the darkness,
it takes just one sparkle of light,
and soon this unwanted anger,
will soon be out of sight.
Both kindness, and compassion,
I’d rather seen grown,
and along with all these emotions,
only love will be sewn.
We are all born, of
the human family.
So, then none of us here,
can ever be perfect you see.
I, among some others,
have made our own mistakes.
Understanding for others,
is what forgiveness, and new beginnings takes.
Until we all can look into,
the mirror and see perfection,
please, put a stop to this ugliness and hurt,
and lets build a more loving, and strong connection…………..

I pray this message is heard from within the hearts needing this and that we all find our path, more loving and compassionate towards all in creation, and we all find the strength to make the changes needed to walk in a sacred manner. With much respect and love to each one of you, Cherokee Billie

Don’t Ever

Don’t ever be reluctant to show your feelings when you’re happy, give in to it.

When you’re not, live with it.

Don’t ever be afraid to try to make things better you might be surprised at the results.

Don’t ever take the weight of the world on your shoulders.

Don’t ever feel threatened by the future take life one day at a time.

Don’t ever feel guilty about the past what’s done is done. Learn from any mistakes you might have made.

Don’t ever feel that you are alone there is always somebody there for you to reach out to.

Don’t ever forget that you can achieve so many of the things you can imagine.

It’s not as hard as it seems.

Don’t ever stop loving don’t ever stop believing; don’t ever stop dreaming your dreams.

Heal your grief for Whitney Houston and Others

So many people feel they do not have a way to express their grief over the loss of Whitney Houston and I am going to share ways that will help you deal with grief. It’s important that you continue to live a full life and be thankful that Whitney shared a portion of your life. It does not matter who you are grieving for, the techniques I have given below are going to help. So here are some thoughts that I have put together that I would like for you to focus on to get over grieving.

Focus on Whitney Houston’s music, and videos, not her shortcomings or the rumors about her death.

Don’t believe everything you hear and read. Respect her for what you hear of her music and her videos and don’t listen to the gossip. The pain will ease but never lift.

Whitney shared a magnetism and connection to her fans that transcends any physical place or structure.
Whitney could give you a smile that would melt your heart or make you believe you were the most special person in the world. Remember her presence will always be with us.

The best way to remember her is by literally paying attention to the message that she conveys in her music videos and songs.

To me music is a therapy, and I listen to music that has a positive message and it heals my spirit.

The Important Thing Is Learning How To Cherish A Memory Without Getting Stuck There.

A Healing Meditation

Sit in special place that you make your sacred space and prepare yourself with your own special opening ritual—for example, a prayer or the lighting of a candle or incense. You may want to spend time voicing your emotions, releasing feelings and balancing your energy—so that you can focus on the pure intention of giving your love to Whitney.

When you feel centered, close your eyes and visualize Whitney’s face. When the energy of this experience is at its height, send a beam of unconditionally loving energy out of your heart to Whitney. You can imagine a beam of light or a color, but pay special attention to the sensations of power in your heart moving out towards Whitney. Hold this feeling for a few moments, leaving your own concerns aside in order to devote all of your energy to simply wishing Whitney the best.

When it feels appropriate to end, ask for help on your own journey ahead. Give thanks for the love and support that you know is always there from your loved one, your ancestors, and your spiritual guides and teachers. Give thanks even if you can’t see the way ahead and even though it may be hard to know what to feel thankful for.

Asking for help calls energy in; giving thanks sends it out. Your heart is the doorway for this universal rhythm of loving. By keeping it open you stay connected to the most powerful healing of all.

I pray that everyone who grieves for Whitney Houston be touched by the healing Angel Rafael. Remember Whitney doesn’t need healing as she is whole and complete in spirit.
