A Dream Within a Dream

I had a conversation with a lady today that sparked me into thinking about other dimensions. Having journeyed into the spirit world countless times I have definitely seen other dimensions. Who is to say what reality is? We are stuck in this third dimension and it pulls down our spirit tremendously. It keeps us locked into this third dimension reality instead of being able to explore all that there is.

It is extremely difficult to imagine other dimensions because of a hold that the third dimension has on us. If you allow yourself to let go and imagine unlimited possibilities you might be able to see that this is not all there is.

Several years ago I did a radio program and had a woman on as a guest who was a psychic. We ended up in a heated debate because she did not believe in time travel or other dimensions. I could not believe this woman claimed to be a psychic and not have the concept of the unlimited possibilities that exist.

Next time you look at something use your third eye and try to see beyond this dimension and see what other possibilities there are.

I am enclosing one of my favorite poems that I think gives a great perspective and thought about not everything being what we see or seem.

Would love to hear your thoughts about other dimensions.

A Dream Within a Dream
BY EDGAR ALLAN POE

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow —
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand —
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep — while I weep!
O God! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

The History of Halloween and Samhain

copy-of-254413_10151126948028740_371639456_n-copia

It’s Halloween – the celebration the ancient Celts called Samhain. This marks the Celtic beginning of the New Year and winter. This celebration starts at sunset on October 31 to sunset November 1.

Samhain is the Gateway to winter, where the veils are especially thin between these worlds of the seen and unseen. The Celts called the unseen realms the ‘Otherworld’, a place of beauty, rest, and renewal. Samhain is a time in the cycle of the year for slowing down. For connecting to your deep self and resting there in the healing power of your inner nature. It is the turning of the seasons where you can commune with the earth mother’s womb from which all that is created is birthed.

This marks the time to honor the worlds of the seen and unseen – our everyday world, and the worlds of imagination, mystery, and spirit.

Halloween is also a time for honoring your loved ones who have passed. Perhaps today you may want to light a candle and recall in your heart the cherished memories of loved ones who are no longer in the physical world.

Or you might simply gather some colorful autumn leaves to place in a bowl on your kitchen counter, to acknowledge what you would like to shed in your life and what you would like to seed deep within you for rebirth and renewal.

Straddling the line between fall and winter, plenty and paucity, life and death, Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition

TODAY’S HALLOWEEN TRADITIONS

The American Halloween tradition of “trick-or-treating” probably dates back to the early All Souls’ Day parades in England. During the festivities, poor citizens would beg for food and families would give them pastries called “soul cakes” in return for their promise to pray for the family’s dead relatives. The distribution of soul cakes was encouraged by the church as a way to replace the ancient practice of leaving food and wine for roaming spirits. The practice, which was referred to as “going a-souling” was eventually taken up by children who would visit the houses in their neighborhood and be given ale, food, and money.

The tradition of dressing in costume for Halloween has both European and Celtic roots. Hundreds of years ago, winter was an uncertain and frightening time. Food supplies often ran low and, for the many people afraid of the dark, the short days of winter were full of constant worry. On Halloween, when it was believed that ghosts came back to the earthly world, people thought that they would encounter ghosts if they left their homes. To avoid being recognized by these ghosts, people would wear masks when they left their homes after dark so that the ghosts would mistake them for fellow spirits. On Halloween, to keep ghosts away from their houses, people would place bowls of food outside their homes to appease the ghosts and prevent them from attempting to enter.

Halloween evolved into a secular, community-based event characterized by child-friendly activities such as trick-or-treating. In a number of countries around the world, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people continue to usher in the winter season with gatherings, costumes and sweet treats. Leave treats on your doorstep to protect yourself from the wandering Spirits and dress in costume to hide from those in Spirit who may try to approach you.

So call it Halloween or Samhain take time to celebrate and enjoy this special time of year.

Warning Will Robinson…Orionid Meteor Shower! October 21, 2016

meteor-shower-calendar-th

The Orionid meteor shower, where Earth passes through debris left by the Halley comet (officially known as Comet 1P), is currently peaking. The shower started on October 2 and was visible for around a week but now is reaching its most intense period during October 20 and 21.

Although, if you miss the meteors there’s still the opportunity to seem them all the way through to around November 7.

The shower happens every year in October and sees the meteors travelling at around 41 miles per second – this is a relative speed of 148,000 mph (238,000 km/h). Usually, the meteors appear fairly faint in the sky but in areas with dark skies, little light pollution, and minimal cloud, there is still a chance of them being visible.

Enjoy the show,
