The Full Cold Moon December 06, 2014!

Can you feel the tension, truth and emotions rise? This is the last full moon of the year and often gives way to a lot of emotions we have hidden!

The Full Cold Moon December 6, 2014 is at 7:27 AM. The term Long Night Moon is a doubly appropriate name because the midwinter night is indeed long, and because the Moon is above the horizon for a long time. The midwinter full Moon has a high trajectory across the sky because it is opposite a low Sun. This full Moon is also called the Long Nights Moon by some Native American tribes. It is the month when the winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark.

The MOON is at her fullest and this one is a biggy! It’s all about our feelings being expressed and verbalized. Your head may feel a little busy and our sub-conscious is out on full show. What was hidden is now revealed and you will need to deal with it! We will all react differently to this. On Saturday morning November 22, at 7:32 AM EST, a New Moon occurs early in the fire sign of Sagittarius. A new moon symbolizes new beginnings when you look at old goals and set new ones. It is a good time to contemplate upon your life. The meaning of a new moon is the opportunity to start anew and refresh your dreams and desires. It is a time of magic!

It’s a time when we can focus on some of the constructive traits of the sign of the Archer – optimistic, enthusiastic, adventurous, honest, outspoken, independent – and consider how to positively incorporate these qualities into our lives. Beaver Full Moon Thursday, November 06, 2014

The month of November 2014 brings some amazing skywatching sights for observers, including the peak of the Leonid meteor shower, and a grand conjunction of six solar system objects. The moon will appear close to Uranus, and Mercury will be at its best placement in the morning sky all year. It rises around sunset and sets around sunrise; this is the only night in the month when the moon is in the sky all night long. The rest of the month, the moon spends at least some time in the daytime sky.

November’s full Moon was called the Beaver Moon because it was the time to set traps, before the waters froze over. This Moon was also called the Full Frost Moon.

According to Native American folklore, the Beaver Moon gets its name for one of a few different reasons, both having to do with the dam-building, nocturnal rodents with the oar-shaped tails. The Old Farmer’s Almanac postulates that it is called the Beaver Moon because this month was just the right moment to set beaver traps before the winter freeze. But according to National Geographic, it could also be attributed to the “heavy activity of beavers building their winter dams.”

The full moon of is the smallest full moon of the year and will be darkened by the very subtle penumbral shadow of Earth during the night tonight or before dawn for North America. Cloudy where you are? Just can’t get up that early? Don’t worry. You can still see the moon boldly lighting up the night sky from dusk until dawn for the next couple of nights!

The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is not particularly rational as yet.

Full Buck SuperMoon July 12, 2014

The summer skies will light up July 12, 2014 with our third super moon of the year. This will occur July 12 at 11:25 UTC. A supermoon is a new or full moon that occurs with the moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit. That’s a generous definition, which is why there are so many supermoons!

What did astronomers call these moons before we called them supermoons? They were called a perigee full moon, or a perigee new moon. Perigee just means “near Earth.”

A super full moon occurs when the moon’s closest approach to the Earth (lunar perigee) coincides with the phase of full moon. When this happens the moon may seem bigger and brighter. However, for the ordinary star-gazer there will be no significant difference.

Full moon names date back to Native Americans, of what is now the northern and eastern United States. The tribes kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring full moon. Their names were applied to the entire month in which each occurred. There was some variation in the moon names, but in general, the same ones were current throughout the Algonquin tribes from New England to Lake Superior. European settlers followed that custom and created some of their own names.

To the Native Americans, Moons represented the skies and that is why some call it where Gods lives. The full moon in July represents what many natives call “Thunder Moon”, since July is a time when rains and downpours appear allowing Mother Nature to give her wrath to people who mistreat her. At the same time, being so merciful, she would provide support and fostering to drought and feeding her playground through surges of water.

Since July is normally the month when the new antlers of buck deer push out of their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur, the full moon of this moon is called the full Buck Moon. Another name for this month’s Moon was the Full Hay Moon.

This Full Moon is about balancing our commitment to our career and families. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings. We need to express them.

The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between roots and direction. With the Moon full symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems.

Take time to pray and visualize what you want during this full moon.
