Full Moon November 14, 2016

November’s Full Moon occurs on the 14th at 13: 52UTC and in Taurus.  This full moon has been traditionally called the Beaver Moon because it was the time to set traps, before the waters froze over. This Moon was also called the Full Frost Moon.

According to Native American folklore, the Beaver Moon gets its name for one of a few different reasons, both having to do with the dam-building, nocturnal rodents with the oar-shaped tails. The Old Farmer’s Almanac postulates that it is called the Beaver Moon because this month was just the right moment to set beaver traps before the winter freeze. But according to National Geographic, it could also be attributed to the “heavy activity of beavers building their winter dams.”

This Full Moon is a time for you to start building up your spiritual reserves to be strong throughout the rest of this year.

What are you allowing to emotionally drain out of your spiritual reserves? Now is the time to build your dam and stop the energy drain.

The message that beaver brings us this full moon is prepare you for the cold winter and do not be caught without spiritual fortification.

It is a time to nurture yourself and do things that bring warmth and comfort to your soul.

The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time–a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is not particularly rational as yet.

The month of November 2016 brings some amazing skywatching sights for observers, including the peak of the Leonid meteor shower on the 16th, and a grand conjunction of six solar system objects. The moon will appear close to Uranus, and Mercury will be at its best placement in the morning sky all year. It rises around sunset and sets around sunrise; this is the only night in the month when the moon is in the sky all night long. The rest of the month, the moon spends at least some time in the daytime sky.

The second in a triad of supermoons—when the full moon makes a close approach to Earth—will rise in the east after sunset. While the last three months of 2016 each boast a supermoon, this month’s full moon will be the largest and closest to Earth since 1948, in fact it’ll be roughly 14% bigger and 30% brighter than an average full moon. It is truly a beautiful sight to behold

The reason for the supermoon is that the elliptical orbit of our lunar neighbor occasionally brings it in line with the Sun and the Earth. When this happens, and the moon is on the opposite side of Earth from the Sun, it appears bigger and brighter.

Enjoy all of the celestial blessings that are coming our way in November. Make sure you take time to thank The Creator, the angels, your guides, and ancestors for all of their help bringing you through this year.

November 27-28, 2012 Full Moon and Rare Lunar Eclipse!

The full moon will come during the night tonight (November 27-28, 2012) for us in North America, and it comes with some interesting features. That is, in 2012, the November full moon gives the world its smallest full moon of the year – and in North America, a subtle, penumbral eclipse of the moon before sunrise November 28. Meanwhile, those in the world’s Eastern Hemisphere – Europe, Africa, Asia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand – will see this penumbral lunar eclipse after sunset November 28.

Although the penumbral eclipse lasts – technically speaking – for over four and one-half hours, you’re only likely to notice a slight shading on the north side of the moon for up to an hour or so, centered at greatest eclipse (14:33 Universal Time). Generally, at least 70% of the moon’s diameter must be immersed within the Earth’s penumbral shadow before the eclipse becomes noticeable. At greatest eclipse on November 28, the penumbral shadow will cover nearly 92% of the moon’s diameter.

Eclipses are tied to changing circumstances. However, we are usually the ones to precipitate or to attract changes because our “inner guides” know that we need it. Human beings are progressive by nature, and although we might stay in situations that are making us miserable for longer than we should, deep down inside we know that change is necessary for growth.

The full moon of November 28, 2012 is the smallest full moon of the year and will be darkened by the very subtle penumbral shadow of Earth during the night tonight (night of November 27-28), or before dawn for North America.
