Happy Ostara March 20, 2016

Ostara 2

Round and Round and Round I go.  Changing as the Seasons Flow. Young to Old, then Old to Young, Life has Finished, yet Begun. Never Fear for passing Time, Never Fear you’ve Passed your Prime, With Changing Woman in your Heart Whatever has Ended can still Start, Whatever that is Old can be Renewed, From Black to White to Rainbow Hued. So Don your Turquoise, Dance your Dream Let Changing Woman Reign Supreme, The Let your Winter turn to Spring And Know you can do Anything!

This is the day that Beautiful Mother Earth brushes off her cool white blanket of snow.  We have survived another winter and now it is time for us to awaken our spiritual and physical self as we continue to blossom and grow.

Ostara was a mother goddess of Northern Europe who was honored as the bringer of the dawn and of the springtime.

Some authors say Ostara derives from ancient Celtic and Saxon spring holidays, later Christianized into the Easter holiday. Others argue this and other neopagan holidays are modern creations. Either way, many religions celebrate holidays during this time of year, including the Hindu Holi, Jewish Purim, Sikh Hola Mohalla and Christian Easter. Celebrate this time of the year in whatever way makes you most happy.

It is time for us to spiritually shed the dead parts of winter from our souls and make way for the new growth that is being released at this sacred time.  This is your opportunity to advance your soul growth. Do not let this moment pass you by.  It is easy to say that I will do it tomorrow or the next day or the next day, and soon you will discover that ten years have gone behind you, and you will wonder what you did with your life during that time.

Blossom just like spring flowers and continue to get deeply rooted in changing your life and becoming a gentle spirit that blesses everyone you encounter.  Just like angels and fairies send blessings as they pass by let this be your gift to everyone in your life.

Clean and shine the diamond of your soul and let that light shine before everyone, so that people wonder as you pass by-what it was that just touched their soul.

This is a wonderful time of year and definitely the time to send out your dreams to the universe.  By doing this you will see the growth of what you have put out.

Many blessings,

Great Ways to Enjoy Springtime

Hello Spring

Everyday Things

Spend 5 minutes each day relaxing and meditating

Concentrate on your surroundings, the sensations in your body and the feeling of tension dissolving. As you get into the habit you may like to play music, my meditation video or a visualization CD, and extend the time to half an hour. Remember that ten minutes per day are worth much more than an hour at the weekends – your subconscious is a creature of habit and responds best to repetition.

Get outside in the fresh air for 5 to 10 minutes a day

Walk, take deep breaths, do stretches. As time goes by, try to increase this, so that you walk, or run for up to half an hour.

Make sure you get out into nature each week. If you are a city-dweller make this a weekend routine.

Treat Yourself …
To a massage or full spa break.

If You Find It Hard To Think Positive …
Try hypnotherapy with Cherokee Billie for a wonderfully relaxing experience that can change your mind at a deep level.

Sign Up For A Yoga Class
It does wonders for all sorts of complaints, increases your sense of the spiritual and can help you lose weight.

Choose an exercise that you like, and do it.

Dancing to your favorite tunes every day for ten minutes in your living room is much better than taking out an expensive gym subscription that goes to waste. Be honest with yourself about what you like and can realistically accomplish.

Avoid Diets

It’s so negative being told what you can’t eat and having to plan calories, which can have you obsessing constantly about food.

Instead Focus On Positives. Make sure you drink two liters of water per day and have loads of fruit and vegetables. You won’t have the room, or the inclination, to eat bad stuff.

Some Ancient Rituals

Be sure and invite the Angels into your home! Learn how by clicking Here

Rub an essential oil into a candle, or heat it in an oil-diffuser. It will lift your spirits.

Leave A Glass Of Water In The Spring Sunshine …

for half an hour, then drink the energy of the growing light.

Light a Bright Yellow Candle

Watch the flame. Imagine the resurgence of life within the earth and imagine that the light of the sun is shining from your own solar plexus. Say “I welcome the bright sun, inside and outside.”

Try Ginseng And/Or Licorice …

To banish fatigue, green tea for oomph, peppermint or rosemary teas for gentle stimulation. Avoid anything that contains caffeine, for the temporary high will be followed by a low. (Always read labels and consult a professional if you are using ginseng or licorice for more than a couple of weeks)

It’s time to shed the dead parts of winter and following some of these suggestions can help you start enjoying springtime.

It’s Time for Spring Fever

springAfter a long cold winter spring is such a beautiful blessing from Mother Nature. The earth comes alive and so do our spirits.

Sunshine is one of the best medicines we can have. Hearing the sounds of birds chirping always lifts my spirit. There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy. Think of all you have to look forward to during this wonderful season.

“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.” – Charles Dickens

As you can see I started this post with a quotation from Robin Williams. I heard him say this during one of his stand up comedy shows. I’m enclosing the complete video below so take some time to laugh and enjoy this sweet spirit.

Happy Springtime,

Spring Equinox, New Moon, March 20, 2015

Spring Equinox copia

March is an extremely busy month astrologically.  It is the spring equinox, a new moon, and an eclipse all on March 20, 2015. It occurs when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is inclined neither away from nor toward the Sun, and, astrologically, when the Sun reaches 0° Aries. Its name is derived from Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), as night and day are about equal length at this Spring midpoint. Other names for the Spring Equinox are Alban Eilir, Gwyl Canol Gwenwynol, Lady Day, Meán Earrach, and Ostara.

The moon turns new only 14 hours after reaching lunar perigee – moon’s closest point to Earth in its orbit. Thus this moon is a supermoon – at the new phase – not visible in our sky, but having a larger-than-average effect on Earth’s oceans. Plus this new supermoon swings right in front of the equinox sun on March 20, so that the moon’s shadow falls on parts of Earth.

The feel-good factor about this day, however, is that the first official astrological day of spring hints that high temperatures are not far off. This will be good news for many, who will have a much-awaited relief from the spate of cold blasts seen in the recent weeks.

It’s important to remember that the dawning of spring has been observed for a long time in many other cultures as well. Traditions vary widely from one country to the next.  March 20 also welcomes Ostara which is celebrated in spring season as a way to honor the richness and wealth that Mother Nature has brought to humans and creatures. Spring is considered as the period of growth, happiness and love. In this time of a year, everything is woken up from winter and they are full of vitality.
Ostara magic

As the winter ends traditionally Native American people celebrate their thanks with prayers for surviving the bitter, cold days and the struggles they had to overcome. With spring everyone begins to enjoy the bounties of the earth once more, as plants and animals show new life again. The land turns green, wildlife flourishes and people are filled with anticipation for the coming of summer, the time of harvest.

Springtime is a wonderful season to celebrate with much merriment and shared feasts, as families gather together, dancing and enjoying the gifts of the land. Just as those in ancient times find a reason to give thanks for being here another day. Do something special to honor the fact that you are still here. Celebrations and rituals are important in our spiritual walk.

It is a time to offer thanks in prayers to the Great Creator who is watching and filling those that celebrate with blessings.

Many Blessings,

Spring Cleaning for the Soul and the Home

Spring Cleaning Checklist
It’s time to think about spring cleaning. Think of it as a meditative exercise to sweep out the old energies of winter and make way for spring abundance. Do it with the conscious intent of clearing out old energies to set the stage for new good fortune.

In spring cleaning the first thing to clean is your spirit/soul. Smudging is one of the best ways to clean your spirit, body, house, and even your work place. Click here for details on how to do Smudging.

Next is cleaning out your house. Start with your closets. Most of us have closets that are bursting with stuff we have not used for a long time. Donate items that you no longer can use. Old clothes can be recycled and used for cleaning rags. Nothing feels better than having a clean organized closet.

From there you can start cleaning one room at a time. After you finished your home you can also clean out your office. From there you can start cleaning out your flower beds or flower pots. Nothing feels better than putting your fingers into Mother Earth.

Once finished, treat yourself to a cleansing and relaxing bath. Light some candles and add some of your favorite bath oil or use 20 drops of lavender oil for a cleansing and rejuvenating bath. Get rid of that winter skin by using a natural scrub! And finish with a good natural moisturizing lotion.

When you have finished cleaning your house and soul you are going to feel refreshed. Your mind will be clearer and Your spirit will sing!

Happy Spring Time!
