Are You Willing To Face The Truth?

nietsche

The quotation from Nietzsche sums up things pretty well and he understood this a long time ago.

I have found that people prefer to live in their illusions because the truth can often be painful. This became clear to me many years ago when I worked for a psychic service. When I started the manager told me not to tell people the truth. I asked why because that didn’t make sense to me because I felt if I called a psychic I would want to know the truth. She be told me that people did not want the truth. During my time working on that service I found that that was true. I would have people scream, curse me, or just hang up the phone when I told them the truth. Even though I was directed not to I felt I had to tell people the truth. It does not always make a person popular.

The world loves facades! This is the way that things are going in our culture today. Facing things head on is something most people try to avoid. Nowadays people will text a serious message to someone rather than tell them face to face or by phone. This is an unhealthy way to live and yet this is the direction everything is going.

Life is not always beautiful and pain is a part of life. That is the hardest thing for people to accept that life will not always be perfect and there will be times when things are painful.

What ever is going on in your life face it head on! The truth will eventually find its way to you, whether you like it or not.

Many blessings,

When Your Hut’s On Fire

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island.

He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him.

Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions. One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky.

He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost.

He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger.

He cried out, ‘God! How could you do this to me?’

Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island!

It had come to rescue him!

‘How did you know I was here?’ asked the weary man of his rescuers.

‘We saw your smoke signal,’ they replied.

The Moral of This Story: It’s easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn’t lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering.

Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground.

It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God!
