What Is The Difference Between Necessity And Want?

What Is The Difference Between Necessity And Want? Click Picture For Article

People have become so disconnected with the truth that they do not often understand what the difference is between necessity and want.

According to the dictionary a necessity is:

  1. Something necessary or indispensable: food, shelter, and other necessities of life.
  2. The fact of being necessary or indispensable; indispensability: the necessity of adequate housing.

According to the dictionary a desire is:

  1. To wish or long for; crave; want.
  2. A longing or craving, as for something that brings satisfaction or enjoyment

People will be lined up for days outside of large corporate businesses to purchase things that they think they need, must have or give!  There are millions throughout America and the world who would be happy just to have the bare necessities of life such as mentioned above.

Most people are manipulated and controlled by the Media, Internet, and society at large, to think that they need things that they really could live without.

If you’re going to shop on black Friday please go to a small business in your local area and support them. Small businesses are going under very quickly because of the large corporations.

Think if you were living in a third world country you’d be grateful for just a decent meal and not concerned about purchasing a gift for someone that you really don’t care about because they bought you something. Choose to not be controlled by the world.

Why not make simple gifts at home and involve your whole family?

Donate your time at a homeless shelter. Volunteer to help out in hospitals. People are very lonely during the holidays and you could do a lot to help others. Helping others is the key to helping yourself.

Why not change your lifestyle starting today. This week is about Thanks Giving and that’s what every day should be about-giving thanks. You are more fortunate than you think.

In this world we are living through a time of both great darkness and light. We have war, and corporate control, alongside a great spiritual emergence. It is time to choose which collective time line you want to take. Trust your heart rather than what you see on the news or told by authority.

Remembering Janis Joplin on her 70th Birthday!

Remembering Janis Joplin on her 70th Birthday!
Janis Joplin entered this world on January 19, 1943, and when she exited at the young age of 27, she left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.

To me Janis Joplin was the greatest female singer to grace this planet. She used her entire body and soul when she sang. I always preferred male singers, but Janis was different than any woman I had ever heard sing at that time, 1967. She arranged all of her own music and wrote some of her songs, a true talent. Unfortunately I never got to see her perform live, but I followed everything about her as she lived and purchased every album she made.

She struck me as an extremely sad and lonely young woman. Janis seemed to wear her sadness on her sleeve and I always felt that I wanted to take her in my arms and tell her what a beautiful person she was. She always felt that she was ugly and unattractive. When she performed she kept audiences riveted as she poured her soul out in her music. She just did not see how truly beautiful she was.

When she passed I said my private goodbye to Janis. Her latest album, which she was recording at the time of her death, was released right after her death and I played it all the time. It was such a beautiful album, “Pearl” and she finally had a top hit with “Me and Bobby McGee.” No one ever did that song better than her.

For those of us who lived during this wonderful creative time we can never forget the impact Janis Joplin had on the world and how quickly she was gone. Her influence is felt even to this day and will continue to be felt for centuries to come. What if she never would have truly lived and expressed what she felt? The world would have missed out on so much.

There are no limitations to your life when you truly live. Let her life be an inspiration to you to let go of all inhibitions and live your life fully no matter what your age. We are supposed to live not just exist. Live today!

“On stage I make love to twenty five thousand people; and then I go home alone.” Janis Joplin

Praising the Special People

Here’s to the people who try their hardest to be good enough for everyone; who spend hours reading random quotes to find the right one; who listen to the same song dozens of times because the lyrics mean a lot; who deserve so much more than they get and are willing to fight for it and those who wished upon a shooting star, wasted on someone that will never care; and to the beautiful people that feel lonely in their heart. I salute you for having the courage to continue on despite difficulties. One thing I have learned in life is that everything does pass. Nothing remains the same. The one thing you can be guaranteed in this life is that it will constantly change!

“The best thing you can do is the right thing; the next best thing you can do is the wrong thing; the worst thing you can do is nothing.” -Theodore Roosevelt

“All our dreams can come true – if we have the courage to pursue them.” –Walt Disney

“20 years from now you will be disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the one’s you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” -Mark Twain
