No Day But Today

no-day-but-today
You need not be at deaths door to enjoy life to its full extent. Live each day as if it is your last. Life is truly shorter than we think. Do not take life for granted. Be thankful for your life and your family and friends they are a wonderful gift from the Great Spirit Father Creator.

Life is like the vapor exhaled. One moment you can see it – the next it will disappear, life only lasts a few moments. May The Great Spirit bless all of you my friends. Live each day as if it’s your last. Live your life without regret or life is yours to miss. No day but today.

Many blessings,

New Year’s Prayer to the Great Spirit

giphy (1)
Oh Great Spirit I raise smoke to the four sacred winds and the four corners, so that the blessings can reach my brothers and sisters all in every corner of Great Mother Earth while the smoke disperses all over Father Sky and lit by Mother Moon.

Let the smoke pass to each their blessing for this New Year and do away with all sorrows and unhappiness, fill their homes with love, and the light of your wisdom. If any be sick cure them. If sad make them happy. If they have needs fulfill them.

Protect them from all evil. Please Father Keep them in good health, give them long life, and abundance. Give them all your love as they love you.

They can give testimony to your power and mercy, and most important your love. Oh Great Father in heaven I love you with all my heart as I love my brothers and sisters all. I am your servant and theirs. I ask for only one thing give me Strength to keep going on doing as I do on the Sacred Path. And so it is! AMEN.

It is recommended that you clean your spirit, home, car, and any other environment you are in contact with using smudge sticks. I have enclosed a link where you can read the details of how to practice this sacred ceremony for the New Year!

How To Get Your Prayers Answered! By Cherokee Billie.

hands praying
Most people pray asking for what they want and expect an immediate response. In today’s culture everything is about NOW.

• You mean I have to wait for God to answer?
• Why isn’t my prayer answered immediately?
• I have prayed and nothing has happened.
• Why did this tragedy have to happen in my life?
• Where was God?

The Divine Spirit/Great Spirit/God/Creator does not work the way we think it should. We live in a material world and are far removed from the spirit world were everything is different than here. That is why how we perceive things should be from The Divine are not really the way the spiritual world works.

The Divine allows us free will and many things that happen are based on our free will and the free will of others. Things are happening in spirit even though we cannot see it here in the third dimension.

Of course many people are skeptical that there is such a thing as a God. I can understand this because when you look around at the world it certainly makes you wonder who is in charge. We are not in charge of everything except our actions and emotions. There are things going on that are unseen and without the entity of God it would be a very desolate world.

Want To Receive Answers To Your Prayers?

There are ways to receive answers, but you have to be patient. Oh no, there is that dreaded word again patience. Patience is definitely a virtue. Today patience is greatly lacking in our world. Patience is part of faith.

Your feelings cannot be seen, yet they exist.
You have a soul, but can you see it?
Can you photograph it?
No. Therefore it takes great faith to believe in a Divine Spirit that created you and does care about you.

When you pray and ask for something you do not have to do repetitions of the same request. The first time you pray it is heard.

What you need to do afterwards is thank God/Great Spirit/Divine Spirit/Creator for hearing your prayer and for answering it. Every day just keep thanking The Divine for answering your prayer. Once you develop the attitude of believing without seeing you will find that things start changing in your life for the better.

There will be moments where you can glimpse the power of The Divine. Often it is only moments. For some it can be longer. Those moments are given to you as a gift to keep your faith going.

The key points to prayer are:

• Pray and ask for what is needed.
• Keep thanking The Divine for answering your prayer.
• Thank your Guardian Angels for taking care of you daily.
• Thank your Guides for all that they do to help you on your path.

This is really all that you need to do. When you can do this successfully you will start seeing the power of The Divine and the angels in your life.

When you do this successfully you will be able to guide many who need help during these troubling times. We are here for a reason and it is to develop and grow spiritually and to help others who are struggling in darkness and need the touch of the Divine Light.

Holidays are Filled with Magic at Any Age! By Cherokee Billie

As you get older are you finding that you dread holidays? Maybe it is time for you to renew your self and become childlike. Remember the fascination, wonder, and anticipation concerning Christmas each year when you were a child? This is where we need to be once more. Many have let the sparkle go out of their lives.

Whether you celebrate this holiday religiously or not does not matter. What is important is letting yourself go back and remember the fun Christmas was for you as a child.

Forget about all of the obligations you have; sometimes we have to let things go. Perhaps you do not have to attend a business Christmas party. Is anyone really going to be upset that you are not there? What is more important for you that day? Do you need to do something that satisfies your soul? Perhaps baking cookies and decorating them would be far more rewarding to your soul as it would bring back wonderful childhood memories. The cookies could always be given as presents. It is not necessary to have to spend a lot of money on presents for people just because it is Christmas.

The amount of depression at this time of the year is enormous. The commercialism of the holiday season puts a great deal of pressure on people. Advertising in all forms indicates that you should be having wonderful parties surrounded by friends and family and laughing whereas that is not always the case! Many people live far from their families, or their families have passed on, and have no close friends. The pressure is on for you to have a good time because it is Christmas and New Year’s.

Stop and still your mind and think about what you would really like to do. What about taking a walk and enjoying the frosty air? Why not take yourself through the toy department and see what calls out to you? What about buying yourself a toy? The inner child is often crying out for things from the past, and there is nothing wrong with buying something that will please the child within.

You can bring the anticipation back into your life that you had as a child by removing the obstacles that have been placed upon us by society and the advertising community. There is still a Great Spirit and Angels that are more than willing to help us feel and experience the mysteries and wonders of life. Ask for the sparkle to be brought into your heart right now and see if you can change your experience of the holiday season.

Claim the innocence of childhood for yourself this year and let go of obligations. We need this now more than ever because of the pressures living in a depressed economy.

The same childhood magic is there for you as long as you can let go of thoughts, emotions, and pressures that impede you from experiencing a newness of life. What is passed is the past and live now. Do not stay buried in old emotions. Children live in the moment. Being a child is a blessing that you can have once more. Take time every day to please the child within you and you will be amazed at how quickly you feel like jumping and playing once more.

Have a Magical Holiday Now!

Thank You Mother Earth!

“We return thanks to our mother, the earth, which sustains us.

We return thanks to the rivers and streams which supply us with water.

We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines
for the cure of our diseases.

We return thanks to the corn, and to her sisters,
the beans and squashes, which give us life. …

We return thanks to the sun, that he has looked upon the earth with a beneficent eye.

Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit, in who is embodied all goodness, and who directs all things for the good of his children.”

Cleansing Your Spirit Native American Style

by Cherokee Billie.

In today’s modern world there never seems to be enough time. We rush from the time we get up until the time we go to bed. We battle traffic, work, deadlines, e-mail, family matters, and love life. Everything we have to get done in 24 hours! There doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day. People used to work a 40 hour week, now the work hours go into your private life and many people have to spend time on the computer or phone continuing work at home.

People often come to me for psychic/spiritual advice, and they are totally burnt out. They cannot understand why they cannot stop crying, yelling at people, being angry, and feel totally confused. The fact that they know something is wrong is the first step to turning their lives around.

In our high tech modern world, we need an antidote. It is time to turn back to the ancient teachings of Native Americans, which offers common sense, an uncomplicated approach to life, and a way to appreciate our existence.

Frequently people ask me about cleansing their spirit, and I give many different ways to do it. Here are two of my favorite methods.

Releasing The Past

One of the most effective and simplest ways to cleanse your spirit is by releasing the emotional baggage that you are carrying on you.

You can do this by writing down the situation or the name of a person on a piece of paper; also you must have a heat-proof container and matches. Place the paper in the container and light it on fire. As you watch the smoke go up, picture what you have written about going up into Spirit and releasing it from your life. Native Americans have always used smoke in sacred ceremonies because of the belief that smoke is going up to the Great Spirit.

You can do this as many times as it takes until you feel you have released the burdens you have been caring. You will find yourself feeling much lighter each time you do this.

What is Smudging?

Smudging is the name given to the Sacred Smoke Bowl Blessing. For thousands of years this ceremony has been practiced by Native Americans. This is a powerful cleansing technique.

It is a ritual to remove negative energies and have them go in smoke to the Great Spirit.

Smudging can be used to cleanse your spirit, mind, and body. It can also be used to cleanse a house, building, vehicle, work place, or another person.
Most Common Herbs Used For Smudging

Sage
For removing negativity and for healing, White Sage is preferred.

Sweetgrass
Sweetgrass is used for blessing after sage has been used. It is used to attract positive energy.

The Art of Smudging

The first thing to do is to make sure that the area is well ventilated and open up windows so that the negative energies have an easy means of exiting.

Get a shell or any flat heat-proof container. It is good to have a feather to move the smoke away from the person or object that is being cleansed.

Light the smudge stick and when you see a flame, put the flame out using the shell or container and the stick will continue to smolder.

Move the smoking stick around your body starting at the feet and use the figure eight motion as you move the stick up your body. Continue this until you get to the top of your head. At this point the energies have been released into spirit, and you can then proceed to cleanse another person, object, or space. You can do chanting or prayers as you use the smudge stick. Make it a sacred ceremony for yourself.
As the stick burns, put the ash in the shell.

When smudging an area like a room, house, or car, it is beneficial to acknowledge the main directions, which are: north, south, east, west, up, and down. Continue to use the figure eight motion and use the feather to move the smoke away and out through any windows.
It is recommended to smudge all closets in a house as negative energies often store in those areas.

When you have finished Smudging, extinguish the stick by dampening it with water, crushing it against the shell, or placing it in sand. Keep your smudge stick, feather, and shell in a special area, medicine bag, or on an altar.
Start doing this and watch the changes that occur in your life. You will be amazed at what starts changing!
If you would like personal instruction on this sacred art, contact me, Cherokee Billie and I will be glad to teach you personally.

“Give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.”
