June 25, 2014 marks the 5th year since Farrah Fawcett pasted into spirit. We remember her beauty, grace and love. Farrah Fawcett will be remembered today as more than just a sex symbol. To me she was a courageous woman who accepted her fate, yet, fought with everything she had to overcome it and to survive.

Though the poster image of the beautiful “Charlie’s Angels” actress in skin-tight red swimsuit will forever remain an icon of the 1970s, Farrah was determined to prove that she was more than just a pretty face and body and did so by taking on challenging acting roles in the 1984 television movie “The Burning Bed” and the film “Extremities” in 1986.

Farrah Fawcett died at age 62 of complications from anal cancer about 9:30 a.m. PT, about two hours before Michael Jackson died. Because her death was widely anticipated, she was diagnosed in 2006, most of the news coverage focused on Jackson.

Farrah was definitely America’s Angel. I know that she is at peace and does not suffer any longer.

Farrah put up a courageous battle and stayed strong spiritually until the end. I have felt her spirit by reading the following book. “My Journey with Farrah: A Story of Life, Love, and Friendship” by Alana Stewart , a book that everyone should read…if the word cancer has ever touched your life or anyone’s life it is a must read. The word Cancer changes and touches everyone, this book about friendship, life, love and living in the moment and taking nothing for granted…a reminder we all need to hear…and listen to. I could not put this book down; it made me cry, laugh and take a closer look at my life. We should all be so blessed to have a friend like Alana in our lives. One never knows why people come into our lives and what impact they may have on it…take nothing for granted and treasure every moment.

I could not put this book down. It was that good. I was touched, inspired, amused — and literally in tears by the final chapter. Alana Stewart’s journal is the perfect tribute to
“America’s Angel.” I am a changed person after reading this. I heartily recommend it to anyone and everyone who needs a primer course in real friendship, real love, real faith and real courage. A beautiful book from cover to cover — with one warning — it’ll absolutely break your heart. But it will lead you through a personal journey toward deeper soul understanding.

Thank you Alana for having the courage to write and share this story. This is a book that will touch many lives…and help many….a must read.
