Plant a Lollipop Garden for Easter

Plant jelly beans

Create magic and enjoy the wonder of a child’s imagination as they watch the Jelly Beans grow into their own special Lollipop Garden.

The night before Easter, have your children plant their Jelly Beans. Have fun as your child carefully digs little holes and “plant” a jelly bean in each hole. Let them rest overnight.  Once they are asleep, carefully place a lollipop where each bean had been planted and in the morning, your children/grandchildren will have an amazing surprise.

Your children/grandchildren will delight when they see what grew overnight – a Lollipop Garden. This makes a fun twist on the traditional Egg Hunt as well.

If you have an incredibly perceptive child, make sure you replace the same color sucker with the same color jelly bean that your child planted.

Get your little ones really excited about what can happen when we all choose and share our joy, and the impact it can have in the lives of others. Use this as a teaching tool for the character quality, you can ask your kids questions as you are planting the jelly beans, and use statements such as, “What do you think happens when we plant seeds of loving kindness every day?” Or “Why is it so important to plant seeds of joy into other people’s lives?”

Not only will you children or grandchildren have fun, it will help them think about others who may not be as fortunate and what their needs may be. This helps instill what the meaning of Easter is about.

A Christmas Eve Party for the Little Ones.

new-tradition

This is a really nice tradition that you can start with your children or grandchildren this year.  You can turn this night into a party for all of you.

Start with a box and fill it with Christmas decorated pajamas, a Christmas movie, hot chocolate, snacks for the movie and a Christmas book.  Wrap all of it up in Christmas wrap and pass it out early Christmas Eve. This can also be done a day in advance if necessary.

It’s a wonderful way to bond and feel closeness with your children or grandchildren.  In today’s world so many children turn to their Iphone or tablet for communication and it has become a new way of bonding.  It’s time to go back and connect one on one with your loved ones.

Another thing you can put in the box if you choose would be a board game.  These are wonderful as you are what playing with one another and not with a computer.  This year take some of the technology out of your Christmas and find a way back to its real meaning which is love and togetherness.

Many blessings,

Elf Donuts!

elf-donuts

Elf donuts! Actually these are Cheerios to leave with Santa’s cookies! This is the cutest thing ever! I put this on my Facebook page last year and everyone just loves this idea and I wanted to share it with you. Just put a few drops of frosting then add sprinkles, confectionery or brown sugar. You can make a little box from a matchbox, small jewelry box, or cut up a cardboard box, tape it, and decorate with Christmas wrap. This is great to make with your children and grandchildren. I found this cute idea on Pinterest . Enjoy the holidays my friends,

Have a Candy Cane Hunt!

cc-tree-copia

Imagine the excitement your children or grandchildren will have as they search through the branches or inside the house for candy canes. The surprise and delight as they find one is priceless.

Want to hold your own candy cane hunt?

You can use either fake or real candy canes for your hunt.  You can use Red and White Pipe Cleaners twisted together to make quick candy canes or buy plastic candy canes and fill them with treats.  Head outdoors to hide the candy canes, hanging them from various tree limbs and shrubs.  Or, hide them indoors for a fun activity when you’re stuck inside.

Then it’s time for the hunt! Give a countdown and let the fun begin

It is truly magical watching kids race to find candy canes that are hidden among the otherwise barren branches.

Now, grab those candy canes and get ready to hear some joyous laughter.

Have Fun,
Cherokee Billie 🙂

Resurrecting a Marriage

johnny-cashThis statement from Johnny Cash sums up what a really good loving relationship should feel like. Whether you are married or in a committed relationship you need to have this type of feeling about your partner or else something needs to be repaired. Many times over the years people lose the passion, kindness, and love that they had in the beginning. You have to jump start those emotions once again. It takes time but it can be done. Anything worth having takes patience and work.

Nowadays people are so stressed by the rush of modern life and have so little time that they forget that it takes work to keep their relationship alive and healthy.

When a couple does come together they talk about their problems-Be it financial, children, health, or work. Of course there are problems in our lives, but when that is the emphasis of a conversation with your mate, then you do have a problem.  You have to learn how to put aside problems and focus on each other.

So how can you get the spark going again in your relationship? First and foremost is to remember why you came together and fell in love in the first place. Things may have changed over time, but in the beginning of the relationship there was excitement and romance. And this is what needs to be brought back to your relationship to get the sparks going again.

It is important to set aside at least one night a week for date night. A date night should be treated just like you would if you were going out on a date with someone for the first time. You would not be talking about your problems you would be focused on the other person.

If you have small children these things can be done after they have gone to bed and are fast asleep. If your children are older you can arrange a sleepover for them or even a babysitter so that you have time to focus on your mate. If you have no children or your children are grown, you do not have to worry about it.

Here are some suggestions to put the romance back into your life.

  1. Write out an invitation for date night and send it to your mate.
  2. For the man be sure and bring your date flowers.
  3. Have a barbecue outside for just the two of you.
  4. Watch the first movie you ever saw – once again. Make popcorn and have a glass of wine as you watch this.
  5. Cook dinner together. Make a special desert such as cookies and eat them fresh from the oven.
  6. Place lit candles throughout the living room or light a fire in the fireplace.
  7. Have a theme night. Dress up as your favorite characters from movie, music, or literature. Plan this in advance to have food appropriate to your theme and have a movie to watch based on your theme.
  8. Order takeout food and feed one another.
  9. Give each other a massage, even if it’s only the neck and shoulders. You will be surprised at how a massage can stimulate both of you.
  10. Play board games or cards. The loser has to do something for the other person.
  11. Put on music and dance together. There’s nothing more romantic than a slow dance.
  12. Put on your sexiest lingerie under your clothes. Play strip poker.
  13. Go out and play miniature golf.
  14. Read together by candle light or firelight.
  15. Have breakfast in bed for dinner and then snuggle under the covers.
  16. Make out during the movie, just like you would on a date.

These are just a few suggestions to help you put back the fire in your relationship. The two of you came together for reason and with a bit of effort you can have the same feelings reignited once more.

When you and your mate are together do your best to put the worries of the world aside and focus on each other. This may take time to get into the swing of it, but once you start having date night regularly it will become something that you both are looking forward to.

I hope that you get to experience paradise every day with your loved one.

Many blessings,
Cherokee Billie
