Winter Solstice December 21, 2014

Happy Winter Solstice

December 21, 2014, 6:03 PM EST (23:03 UT) marks the solstice—Winter solstice is an astronomical phenomenon which marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. Winter solstice occurs for the Northern Hemisphere in December and for the Southern Hemisphere in June.

The winter solstice is a time of reflection, during the darkest and longest night of the year. A time to spend with family and friends. A time to imagine what the coming year will bring.

Herbs: Holly, mistletoe, pine cones, pine needles, oak leaves, Yule log ashes, fir, birch, hazel bark, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, wintergreen

Colors: Red, green, white, gold, silver

The winter solstice, the rebirth of the Sun, is an important turning point, as it marks the shortest day. Yule is deeply rooted in the cycle of the year, it is the seed time of year, the longest night and the shortest day, where the Goddess once again becomes the Great Mother and gives birth to the new Sun King.

Here are some wonderful suggestions to start winter solstice traditions — feed the wildlife, eat by candlelight, release the old and welcome the new.

  • String cereal onto thread and drape it across the bare branches of trees for the wildlife to share… some apples too, hung on a thread. This is a wonderful gift to the creatures that share our world in the night, the longest night of the year.
  • Welcome the return of the sun by eating in only candlelight and firelight… thank the sun for all of its strength and energy, and for bringing light into our lives.
  • I feel one of the most important things that you can do is write out your hopes and dreams for 2015 on slips of paper, then light them on fire by candles or fireplace and watch as the paper transforms to smoke… carrying your intentions out to the universe. Your energy and intention is not unnoticed.
  • You can also use this ceremony to release any old thoughts, patterns or unwanted energy from 2014. Just write down whatever comes, draw a picture. Sometimes words are not needed.

The history of the Winter Solstice and Stonehenge. Stonehenge is carefully aligned on a sight-line that points to the winter solstice sunset. It is thought that the Winter Solstice was actually more important to the people who constructed Stonehenge than the Summer Solstice. The Winter Solstice was a time when most cattle were slaughtered (so they would not have to be fed during the winter) and the majority of wine and beer was finally fermented.

The Winter Solstice is the most important day of the year at Stonehenge and a truly magical time to be there. For many the impulse to arrive at Stonehenge in time for the Solstice is a little like all those people drawn to the strange rock in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. It’s akin to a spiritual experience for those that attend.

Please light a candle (white, gold, or silver) and spend at least 5 minutes in mindful mediation.

Make sure you take time to enjoy this sacred day in some special way.

Winter solstice blessings,

All life is a ceremony

Have you ever stopped to think that Every Act is a ceremony creating a result in our lives? Every ceremony we do always brings results to our lives.

If we think or act in a negative or hateful way we are doing this to ourselves. More problems are created internally then we can ever imagine. Our thoughts are very real and send out a vibration all around us. And we will attract while we send out.

If we continue to do negative things we will eventually destroy ourselves. Any time we live our lives out of harmony, we are destroying a part of humanity.

Any time we treat anything with disrespect whether it is another human being or a plant or an animal, we are performing bad/negative ceremonies. These ceremonies not only have an effect on ourselves but will simultaneously affect everything. We need to use our power well, only do good ceremonies.

Monitor your thoughts! If you do you will catch yourself accidentally thinking in a negative or disrespectful way. Immediately correct your way of thinking and turn it into a positive.

In the words of Gandhi, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”

Thoughts are a vibration and our thoughts create our world. Keep sending out good vibrations and you will find your life improving.

10-10-10

This weekend is going to be the highest frequency of activations that we have experienced so far in the history of this Earth. We are being asked to connect at 6 AM, Noon, and 6 PM to prepare for three different portals that will assist us with our Divine Heritage of Light.

October 10th, 2010 promises to be an amazing moment in our ascension history. Are you ready for it? Do you know what it means?

The energetic push is going to be amazing and it is about each of us experiencing our “I AM” Presence more fully within the body than ever before. Some of us have already integrated the energies physically but not without some discorded challenges and having to let go of situations, people, places, and old environments. This is going to be an unprecedented event in which every person on this Earth is going to be able to feel a newness within them.

But there is a catch. We must incorporate serenity, love, joy and peacefulness as we are going through the doorways. We cannot take the old and must remove the facades we have put in front of ourselves. I want each of you to understand that we need to find peace within us, every moment, going into these portals. If we take any debris that does not serve our purpose, it will be magnified in the newer energies.

Begin your ceremony by preparing a special place where you can be at peace, and use candles, flowers, incense, sacred items and anything else that is important to you. Close your eyes and take four deep breaths, Breathing in through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. Quiet your mind and focus on the wording love. Love is the Divine Presence. Allow the Divine to be with you. You can pray, chant, or just be quiet and let this presence penetrate you.

When you have finished sit down and write what it is you want your pathway to open up with at the end of this year, in preparation for 2011. It is very important that your intentions be very strong because wherever your intentions are going to be, that is what will be created.

Many blessings,
Cherokee Billie
