Great Ways to Enjoy Springtime

Hello Spring

Everyday Things

Spend 5 minutes each day relaxing and meditating

Concentrate on your surroundings, the sensations in your body and the feeling of tension dissolving. As you get into the habit you may like to play music, my meditation video or a visualization CD, and extend the time to half an hour. Remember that ten minutes per day are worth much more than an hour at the weekends – your subconscious is a creature of habit and responds best to repetition.

Get outside in the fresh air for 5 to 10 minutes a day

Walk, take deep breaths, do stretches. As time goes by, try to increase this, so that you walk, or run for up to half an hour.

Make sure you get out into nature each week. If you are a city-dweller make this a weekend routine.

Treat Yourself …
To a massage or full spa break.

If You Find It Hard To Think Positive …
Try hypnotherapy with Cherokee Billie for a wonderfully relaxing experience that can change your mind at a deep level.

Sign Up For A Yoga Class
It does wonders for all sorts of complaints, increases your sense of the spiritual and can help you lose weight.

Choose an exercise that you like, and do it.

Dancing to your favorite tunes every day for ten minutes in your living room is much better than taking out an expensive gym subscription that goes to waste. Be honest with yourself about what you like and can realistically accomplish.

Avoid Diets

It’s so negative being told what you can’t eat and having to plan calories, which can have you obsessing constantly about food.

Instead Focus On Positives. Make sure you drink two liters of water per day and have loads of fruit and vegetables. You won’t have the room, or the inclination, to eat bad stuff.

Some Ancient Rituals

Be sure and invite the Angels into your home! Learn how by clicking Here

Rub an essential oil into a candle, or heat it in an oil-diffuser. It will lift your spirits.

Leave A Glass Of Water In The Spring Sunshine …

for half an hour, then drink the energy of the growing light.

Light a Bright Yellow Candle

Watch the flame. Imagine the resurgence of life within the earth and imagine that the light of the sun is shining from your own solar plexus. Say “I welcome the bright sun, inside and outside.”

Try Ginseng And/Or Licorice …

To banish fatigue, green tea for oomph, peppermint or rosemary teas for gentle stimulation. Avoid anything that contains caffeine, for the temporary high will be followed by a low. (Always read labels and consult a professional if you are using ginseng or licorice for more than a couple of weeks)

It’s time to shed the dead parts of winter and following some of these suggestions can help you start enjoying springtime.

Spring Vernal Equinox 2016

SPRING copia

“Behold, my friends, the spring is come; the earth has gladly received the embraces of the sun, and we shall soon see the results of their love!” — Sitting Bull

The Wheel of the Year – Occurs on or near the Spring Equinox, when day and night are equal. It is a time of balance where unnecessary things, thoughts and habits are thrown away to make room for the new.

Astronomically speaking, the spring equinox falls on March 19 or March 20, 2016. Here are all the Equinox times for North American time zones this year:

  • Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 9:30 PM PDT
  • Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:30 PM MDT
  • Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11:30 PM CDT
  • Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 12:30 AM EDT

Other names for the Spring Equinox are Alban Eilir, Gwyl Canol Gwenwynol, Lady Day, and Ostara. The feel-good factor about this day, however, is that the first official astrological day of spring hints that high temperatures are not far off.

As the winter ends traditionally Native American people celebrate their thanks with prayers for surviving the bitter, cold days and the struggles they had to overcome. With spring everyone begins to enjoy the bounties of the earth once more, as plants and animals show new life again. The land turns green, wildlife flourishes and people are filled with anticipation for the coming of summer, the time of harvest.

It’s important to remember that the dawning of spring has been observed for a long time in many other cultures as well. Traditions vary widely from one country to the next.  March 20 also welcomes Ostara which is celebrated in spring season as a way to honor the richness and wealth that Mother Nature has brought to humans and creatures. Spring is considered as the period of growth, happiness and love. In this time of a year, everything is woken up from winter and they are full of vitality.

Springtime is a wonderful season to celebrate with much merriment and shared feasts, as families gather together, dancing and enjoying the gifts of the land. Just as those in ancient times find a reason to give thanks for being here another day. Do something special to honor the fact that you are still here. Celebrations and rituals are important in our spiritual walk.

It is a time to offer thanks in prayers, celebrations and gratitude to the Great Creator who is watching and filling those who care with blessings.

Saint Patrick’s Day Facts and Myths

Most of us associate Saint Patrick’s Day with green beer, leprechauns, pots of gold, shamrock’s, and a chance to let go and party. So here is a bit of information about this day that you may not have known.

St. Patrick’s Day started as a small, religious holiday in Ireland. And believe it or not, for the first nearly six decades, bars had to stay closed because the holiday falls during Lent. The law was lifted in 1961; and now, 13 million pints of Guinness are sold around the world on March 17th.

Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland.  He is credited with bringing Christianity to the Irish.

He lived in the 5th century, which is like 16 centuries ago.

The shamrock became part of the celebration, when it was said that Saint Patrick would use them to describe the Holy Trinity to children.

Here are several infographics I found that share all kinds of awesome stuff about all things Irish and green.

My Body Does Not Resonate with Daylight Savings Time!

daylight-savings-na

I love the wisdom of the statement by this Human Being. From the time I was little I found that whenever the time changed in the year it would throw off my body. Of course I didn’t understand quite what it was doing when I was a child. As an adult I really started understanding how much it affected me body rhythm and it usually takes me about a month to achieve a state of balance once again.

Daylight saving time (DST) is a change in the standard time with the purpose of getting better use of the daylight by having the sun rise one hour later in the morning and set one hour later in the evening. Although it has only been used in the past hundred years.

I remember in the early 1970’s when there was an energy/fuel crisis and for a few years they stopped the time change. That’s when I realized fully how much the time change was affecting my body. I felt a lot better physically, mentally, and emotionally. I never understood why they implemented it once again.

It’s often been said because it helps farmers. Farmers are going to get up whenever the sun comes up no matter what the clock says.

Perhaps the intelligence behind these time changes understands that it throws off people’s natural body clock. I feel they want to keep people from their natural feelings.

I wonder how many other people go through what I feel when the time changes? I would appreciate if you would let me know what you think about it.

Thank you for reading my opinion on daylight savings time. By the way daylight savings time occurs this Sunday March 13, 2016.

New Moon March 09, 2016

New Moon Intensions

The new moon occurs on March 9, 2016 at 1:53 UTC marking the beginning of a new cycle.  The new moon is a time of initiation and new beginnings. It is the time to plant a seed of what you want to grow in your life. Making a wish, an intention, a promise, or a vow is a common custom. It is believed that as the moon grows, that your intention or goal will too usually by the time the moon completes its cycle and returns full circle to new again.

The Importance of the New Moon

Throughout time farmers knew the importance of the New Moon, so they started to plan their harvests and seeding around the moon cycles. These farmers noticed through time passing that the seeds that took the best were seeded during the new moon. The new moon is also a time of seeding ideas and intentions. Theses seeded ideas will then sprout with the coming full moon just as the seed lie waiting in darkness to break forth into the light to bring fruit, so should you allow the gestation and creation of such idea to bring about physical results.

Regardless of prior mistakes, missteps or faltering, This New Moon offers encouragement and support. For those with creative plans and the ability to be spiritually aware, financial prosperity and abundance are well within reach.

Set your New Moon Intentions in Motion

  • New Moon Magic: Make a fresh start, begin a project, initiate a new relationship, start a new routine.
  • Create a ritual: Set an intention, write down your wishes, dreams, and desires.
  • Light a white/silver candle; imagine the new moving toward you in joyful, powerful ways.
  • Spend a few moments breathing in the energy of this new reality each day, making it more and more tangible.
  • Work this for one moon cycle and re-access and energize on the next new moon if needed.

New Moon Blessings,

The Gift of Time

Alexander the great

The last wishes of Alexander the Great………

On his death bed, Alexander summoned his army generals and told them

his three ultimate wishes:

  1. The best doctors should carry his coffin…
  1. The wealth he has accumulated (money, gold, precious stones) should

be scattered along the procession to the cemetery…

  1. His hands should be let loose, so they hang outside the coffin for

all to see !!

One of his generals who was surprised by these unusual requests asked

Alexander to explain.

Here is what Alexander the Great had to say:

  1. “I want the best doctors to carry my coffin to demonstrate that in

the face of death, even the best doctors in the world have no power to

heal..”

  1. “I want the road to be covered with my treasure so that everybody

sees that material wealth acquired on earth, will stay on earth…”

  1. I want my hands to swing in the wind, so that people understand

that we come to this world empty handed and we leave this world empty

handed after the most precious treasure of all is exhausted, and that

is: …

TIME.

We do not take to our grave any material wealth. TIME is our most

precious treasure because it is LIMITED. We can produce more wealth,

but we cannot produce more time.

When we give someone our time, we actually give a portion of our life

that we will never take back . Our time is our life !

The best present that you can give to your family and friends is your TIME.
May God grant you plenty of TIME, to share with all.

Many blessings,
Cherokee Billie
