Autumn copia

The September Fall/Autumnal equinox occurs the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from north to south. This happens on September 22 – 24 and will mark the Autumnal Equinox which signals the beginning of Fall in the northern hemisphere (our friends in the southern hemisphere are celebrating the Spring Equinox). There will be an equal amount of light and darkness during this time, and afterwards the nights grow longer and we head towards winter.

Technically, an equinox is an astronomical point and, due to the fact that the earth wobbles on its axis slightly, the date may vary by a few days depending on the year. The autumnal equinox occurs when the sun crosses the equator on its apparent journey southward, and we experience a day and a night that are of equal duration.

In the rhythm of the year, this Harvest Home marks a time of rest after hard work. The crops are gathered in, and winter is still a month and a half away! This is also a time of celebration after the hard work of harvesting.  Although the nights are getting cooler, the days are still warm, and there is something magical in the sunlight, for it seems silvery and indirect.

This is the time to look back, not just on the past year, but also your life, and to plan for the future. Warm autumn days are followed by chill nights, as the Old Sun God returns to the embrace of the Goddess.

We must remember that all things must come to an end. So the Sun God journeys into the lands of winter and into the Goddess’ loving arms, but endings are a good time to celebrate our successes, thank our selves and those who helped us, and take part in the balance of life!

This is a time of a powerful 3 Day Galactic Portal time and the Birthing of The Shift: whereby there is a wonderful Opportunity to set the pattern/s of your Life to exactly how YOU want it to look, like or be. A beginning of a true quickening of “Realty” shifts based on your “output” of energies of your thoughts, words, intentions, and deeds. A great time for creating with an open -heart based Consciousness. Positive, loving, benevolent, life affirming, compassionate energies bring quick” like” experiences.

On the other hand, Negative, harmful energies No longer have the use or support of Universal Life Force and so will falter…So.. May All Blessings and Good be Yours! Create Wonderfully and Joyfully!

To welcome in this beautiful and magical season use some of the following to embrace all that is good.

Incense or scents to use: Pine, sage, sweetgrass or myrrh.

Seasonal Herbs: Rue, yarrow, rosemary, marigold, sage, walnut leaves and husks, mistletoe, saffron, oat leaves, apple.

This is my favorite time of year! I love the colors, the essences, the foods, the feelings, the way the shadows grow, the reaping of that which was sown, the turning inward, a bit more. Beyond what i am able to control in my life…..I do sense a shift in the consciousness. I am praying for the strength to endure, but also to understand and accept the things I cannot change. Gathering the acorn seeds from the ground of the great oak trees, those the squirrels missed, is one of my favorite things to do this time of year in southern California where I live. They remind me of the possibility of new life come Spring. It is always something I look forward to after winter. Thank you for your precious self, Billie!

    • Dear Linda: you write so beautifully about this season. Fall has always been my favorite season as well. It sounds lovely picking up the acorn seeds. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this wonderful and special time of year. It’s important to pay attention to these three days as the portal from spirit opens up and the blessings come down. With love, Cherokee Billie
